Welcome to the view from my studio in the lovely village of Mistley, looking out over the River Stour that divides North Essex and Suffolk. It is an estuary, so the movement of the tides means the water and the big sky above is ever-changing.
Calligraphy, lettering & illumination
For me, these are true pleasures in life. Not solely the act of writing and being creative myself, but also seeking out others' work, learning from them and being inspired by what I find.
In a world awash with typography and computer generated fonts, there is something special about elegant handwritten scripts and expressive lettering, about how they infuse individuality, character and beauty into the written word and enhance the personal value of any item, gift or presentation.
I offer a wide range of calligraphic services including handwritten invitations and other stationery for occasions and events, wall charts and family trees, poems or extracts of prose, certificates, memorial books and scrolls, monograms or nameplates, even small books. Whatever your preference, any item can be enhanced with added colour, gilding or other decoration.
